Four Titans Take Podium As Horizon League Championships Finish Up

Junior McKenzie McNitt earned fourth with nearly a school record in the 400 meters.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (5/11/2025) -- Junior McKenzie McNitt led the way with a fourth-place finish as the University of Detroit Mercy women's track and field team ended the Horizon League Outdoor Championships on Sunday.

As a team, the Titans totaled 28.5 points for eighth place as the event officially ended the outdoor campaign.

McNitt claimed fourth in the 400-meters with a career-best 55.61, moving to second all-time in school history. She also ran a leg on the fifth-place 4x100 and sixth-place 4x100 meter relays.

Sophomore Gabriela Gashaj earned fifth in the 400-meter hurdles, crossing the finish line in 1:03.44, while freshman Meghan Koss took eighth in the 200m in 24.70.

The other point scorer came from junior Zoe Morris, as she posted a season-best 1.63-meter leap in the high jump for a share of fifth place.
