INDIANAPOLIS (9/3/2025) -- The opening week brought some honors to the University of Detroit Mercy cross country program as Colin Murray was named the Horizon League Freshman of the Week.

In his collegiate debut, Murray was fifth overall with a time of 15:11 at Oakland's Golden Grizzly Invitational. Murray was in the front pack the entire race, as the time is the second-best 5k in school history.

He is the first Titan true freshman to win a conference weekly award since Ben Kendell in 2014.

Murray and the Titans will have a couple of weeks of training before competing in Notre Dame's National Catholic Championships on Sept. 19.
