GREEN BAY, Wisc (2/7/2026) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team tried to rally in the second half, but the deficit was just too much to overcome as the Titans fell at Green Bay, 76-63, on Saturday afternoon at the Resch Center.
Sophomore
TJ Nadeau led the Titans with 20 points, hitting 8-of-14 from the field and 4-of-5 from behind the arc. Senior
Orlando Lovejoy added 13 points, five rebounds, three assists, and a block, and senior
Legend Geeter had four points and a game-high eight boards.
Detroit Mercy (10-13, 7-7 HL) got off to a slow start on offense, turning the ball over on its first three possessions and making just 4-of-18 from the field in the first 13 minutes of action as Green Bay (14-12, 9-6 HL) opened a 24-12 lead.
The Phoenix then led, 37-19, when Nadeau was able to hit a shot to make it a 37-21 deficit at the break.
In the second half, UDM got the offense going as an 8-0 run cut the Green Bay lead to 10, 41-31. Nadeau started that with a three, and then junior
London Maiden got inside for a basket. After an offensive rebound, Nadeau rang in another three at the 16:59 mark.
Later on, the Titans went on a 9-0 spurt with three-straight triples. Freshman
Lance Stone drilled the first, and then Spratt nailed two in a row to trim the Phoenix lead to just four, 46-42, with 11:20 remaining.
Green Bay recovered to go back up by double digits, but the Titans made one more attempt at a comeback. Geeter went to the charity stripe for two, and Spratt had an offensive rebound and putback to cut it to eight, 54-46, with 7:59 on the clock, but that was as close as they would get the rest of the way.
Spratt finished with 11 points and six rebounds. Sophomore
Ryan Kalambay tied his career-high with five blocks, and Maiden had four points and five caroms.
The Titans shot just 35.7% from the field, going from 28.6% in the first half to 42.9% in the second, and were 9-of-21 from the outside. UDM also helped itself at the line, making 14-of-17 (82.4%) free throws.
Detroit Mercy will stay on the road for one more game as the red, white and blue visit first-place Wright State on Thursday.
