Gabriella Tapp got her game going on the front nine to lead the Titans as the University of Detroit Mercy women's golf team started its spring season with round one of NKU's Spring Fling on Friday.
The event is being played at the par-72, 6,130-yard Sandridge Country Club in Vero Beach, Florida.
As a team, Detroit Mercy is ninth with an opening-round 332.
Tapp got off to a slow start, playing her first 10 holes eight over, before tallying two birdies and five pars in her last eight holes, and is tied for 14th overall with a 79.
Graduate senior
Ariel Chang is tied for 35th with an 83 as she knocked in 10 pars, while sophomore
Emma McKinley shares 41st with an 84, registering nine pars.
Round two of the event will tee off tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.
