VERO BEACH, Fla. (3/15/2026) -- Graduate senior
Ariel Chang had the best 18 on the weekend as the University of Detroit Mercy women's golf team wrapped up its spring opener in the NKU Spring Fling on Sunday.
UDM posted its best round of the tournament with a 320 and finished 10th overall with a 979 (332-327-320) at the par-72, 6,130-yard Sandridge Country Club in Vero Beach, Florida.
Chang carded a 3-over 75 en route to sharing 24th with a 239 (83-81-75), just four shots outside the top 15. She had 11 pars and two birdies on the day and ended the event with three birdies and 31 pars.
Senior
Taylor Kondel tied for 33rd with a 244 (86-78-80) as she registered an 80, knocking in 11 pars on the final 18. Overall, Kondel led the team with 33 pars - tied for ninth in the field.
Junior
Gabriella Tapp's 247 (79-86-82) had her tied for 39th, while sophomore
Emma McKinley shared 46th with a 252 (84-85-83). Tapp had 10 pars and a birdie and ended the tournament tied for seventh with a +2, 3.17 average on the par 3's, and McKinley also had 10 pars in the final round.
The Titans will be back in action next week as the red, white and blue play in NKU's The Julie, Mar. 23-24, at Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia, Ohio.
