MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (3/14/2026) -- Three Titans scored a pair of goals, and the defense allowed just four markers in the second half, but it was not enough as the University of Detroit Mercy men's lacrosse team saw defending league champion Robert Morris take an 11-6 decision at home on Saturday afternoon.
The game was the NEC opener for both teams and a rematch of last year's conference championship.Â
Redshirt sophomore
Marcus Thundercloud, sophomore
Andrew Parker, and freshman
PJ O'Hanlon each scored two goals, while redshirt junior
Cooper St. Clair made 15Â saves in net and scooped up a career-high nine ground balls.Â
Sophomore
Canton Lanham was 10-of-19 in faceoffs with five ground balls, and senior
Kyle Grant had a caused turnover and three ground balls.
Detroit Mercy (1-6, 0-1 NEC) took an early 1-0 lead as Parker scored a goal just a minute into the contest.
Robert Morris (6-3, 1-0 NEC) answered with three straight until Thundercloud won a scrum in front of the net for a ground ball and fired a behind-the-back shot that beat the goalie with one second left in the first to cut it to 3-2.
Parker posted his second strike in the second to trim it to 6-3, but the Colonials took a 7-3 lead at the break.
In the third, O'Hanlon was able to fire one past the goalie to make it 7-4. St Clair would make six stops in the period - after having just two at the half - and with 15 seconds remaining, O'Hanlon came around the cage and was able to sneak one on for a 10-5 game.
O'Hanlon was the playmaker again in the fourth, setting up Thundercloud's second marker for a 10-6 score, and despite six more saves from St. Clair in the stanza, the Titans could not get any closer.
Thundercloud also caused a turnover and had four ground balls. Senior
Jackson Ewald, sophomore
Malakhi Berry, and freshman
Jacob Czarnota each had a caused turnover and ground ball, while freshman
Tommy Thompson had a takeaway and two GB's.
Detroit Mercy will stay on the road as it heads to Wagner next Saturday.
