2008-09 
Played in 27 games with 10 starts on the year…Third on the squad in rebounding at 3.9 boards a game and fourth in scoring at 5.6 ppg…Had six double figure scoring outings on the season, including four in a row at one point…Had his third career 20-point game with a season-high 20 points against Valparaiso, while adding a season-high nine rebounds for the second time in three games…Earned his first double figures scoring game with 10 points at Bowling Green...Netted six points, while corralling four rebounds and blocking two shots, against Chicago State…Came close to his third career double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds at Youngstown State…Posted 18 points in just 26 minutes against Butler… Notched 10 points in a BracketBuster contest at Tennessee State.

2007-08
Led the Titans in rebounding, with 6.2 boards a night, good for 10th in the league… Also led the team in blocks (21) and field goal percentage (.453)… He finished second on the team in scoring with 10.6 ppg… Scored in double figures 17 times, including six straight to start the season… Notched his first collegiate 20-point game at Milwaukee, ending the night with 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting… Poured in a career-high 22 points on 9-of-15 from the field, also career highs, along with seven rebounds against Bowling Green… Tallied his first career double-double against Chicago State with 16 points and 12 boards, while adding a career-best six assists… Grabbed a career-high 12 boards on three occasions – against Chicago State, Milwaukee and UIC… Earned his second career double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds at Milwaukee… Set a personal record with four blocks at Eastern Michigan and against Green Bay… Also recorded a career-best four steals at Wright State in the Horizon League tournament… Was honored with the  Dave DeBusschere Most Improved Player Award after the year…

AS A TITAN
Joined center Ryvon Covile as the lone Titans to start all 30 games in 2006-07… Was third on the team in minutes (737), fifth in scoring (5.2) and second in rebounding (3.6) and blocked shots (11)… Went 10-for-34 behind the three-point line as a sophomore after never even attempting a triple try as a freshman… Scored in double figures five times… Topped out with a personal-best of seven rebounds against both Eastern Michigan and Butler…  Played in 27 games off the bench as a rookie… Reached double figures in minutes on 11 occasions… Averaged more than eight minutes a contest, with a personal high of 22 in an early-season game at Big 12 powerhouse Oklahoma State… Had five points in that contest against the Cowboys, just two shy of his season’s best… His freshman high water mark came against Wright State, when Hayes tallied seven markers…

PERSONAL

Played at Mt. Carmel High School in Chicago for coach Michael Angelides… The “Windy City” was long a fertile Titan recruiting ground when legendary Bob Calihan was at the Detroit helm, and Hayes is one of three current Titans from Chicago… Hayes played three years of varsity basketball for Mt. Carmel in the rugged Chicago Catholic League… Also spent two years on Carmel’s track and field team, where he ran hurdles and competed in the long jump… His high school also produced the likes of Detroit Red Wings defenseman Chris Chelios, All-Pro quarterback Donovan McNabb and NBA All-Star Antoine Walker… Admires the games of current young NBA stars LeBron James and Dwayne Wade… Like James, Hayes enjoys throwing down a dunk on his opponents… Plays the saxophone in his spare time… Majoring in Liberal Studies… Born Feb. 17, 1987…
