Biography

2017: Selected to the All-MAAC Second Team… Posted 177 total saves and led the team with 57 ground balls… Ranked third in the MAAC and 22nd in the nation with 11.06 saves per game… Was also fourth in the MAAC in goals against average (10.75), and save percentage (.507) and fifth with 3.56 ground balls per game… Tallied double digit saves in 13 of the Titans’ 16 games… Began the season with 11 saves at Ohio State… Had 10 saves, seven ground balls and two caused turnovers against Michigan… Registered 16 stops with six ground balls versus Mercer… Made 20 saves over two games with 10 stops apiece against Jacksonville – including five in the fourth quarter - and at Robert Morris to earn MAAC Defensive Player of the Week… Had 12 saves and five GB’s at Marquette… Recorded 13 saves on the road at Quinnipiac and at Siena… Stopped 10 shots and picked up a career-best eight ground balls at Cleveland State… Tallied 15 saves and had six GB’s against Monmouth in the MAAC Championship semifinals… Was a Preseason All-MAAC selection and a Preseason Honorable All-American by Inside Lacrosse… A member of the Detroit Mercy Athletic Director’s Honor Roll…  Ended his career with a school record 690 saves, 13.02 saves per game and a 10.07 goals against average, second in school history with a .568 save percentage and fifth with 164 ground balls… Also finished his career posting 18 games with 15 or more saves, 11 with 17 or more and topping 20 twice with a school record 28 against Mercer in 2015 and 23 against Marist in 2014...

2016: Started 11 of the Titans’ 12 games… Tallied 132 total saves, a .541 save percentage and a 9.84 goals against average… Finished 18th in the country in save percentage and saves per game (11.0), third and fourth in the MAAC, respectively… Led the team with 36 ground balls and posted five caused turnovers… Registered double-digit saves in eight of his 12 games… Began the year with a season-best 18 saves with four ground balls at #11/12 Ohio State… Made 14 saves with six ground balls at #1/2 Notre Dame… Had 10 saves with six ground balls versus Bellarmine and 14 saves with a career-high seven GB’s against #19/17 Marquette at the Midwest Classic… Named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week after recording nine saves and allowing a program-record low three goals in 57 minutes of action at Manhattan… Had 10 saves, five ground balls and a career-best two caused turnovers against #20/20 Air Force… Finished with 14 saves in a come-from-behind victory at Monmouth, where he was once again the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week… Named an Honorable Mention All-American By Inside Lacrosse and was Preseason All-MAAC by the coaches and Inside Lacrosse. 

2015: Another great season as he started all 14 games earning All-MAAC Second Team accolades… Selected the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week five times and was Inside Lacrosse’s Player of the Week once… Topped the country for the second-straight year with 14.43 saves per game... Also third in the nation - and second in the MAAC - with a .589 save percentage… Led the Titans with 39 ground balls… Third in the MAAC with a 10.26 goals against average, allowing single digit goals on seven occasions… Posted a school record 202 saves on the season, third most in the country and the most in the conference… Played 824:10 in net, second in the Titan record books… Recorded the Division I single-game high in 2015 as he made a school-record 28 saves against Mercer on March 4, tying a MAAC record that was set in 2004… Compiled double-digit saves in 12 of his 14 starts, including 15 or more seven times… Tallied 14 saves and picked up a career-high six ground balls in the season-opening 9-8 victory over Ohio State… Made 17 stops with five ground balls at Michigan… Came up with 16 saves in an overtime win over Robert Morris… Posted 34 saves in the two games at the Midwest Classic, tallying 19 against nationally-ranked Marquette and 15 at Bellarmine… Finished with 17 saves and three GB’s at Quinnipiac… Allowed a career-low five goals and had 10 saves versus Manhattan… Posted 13 stops at Marist, the first of three-straight games that he did not allow a goal in the fourth quarter… The following week, he had eight saves and four ground balls against Monmouth in a 9-8 triumph and then had 10 saves in a come-from-behind win at Siena… Ended the regular season with a 17-save performance in an 11-5 victory over Canisius, helping Detroit Mercy clinch a playoff spot… Tallied 11 saves in the MAAC Championship semifinals versus Quinnipiac… Selected preseason All-MAAC by the coaches and by Inside Lacrosse as well as a preseason Honorable Mention All-American by Inside Lacrosse. 

2014: A superb rookie season as he garnered the MAAC's Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and First Team honors… Led the nation with a pair of school records finishing with 16.27 saves per game and a .642 save percentage… He made 179 total saves – tying a UDM record – and was 16th in the country and first in the MAAC with a 9.07 goals against average… Posted double digit saves in all 11 games he saw action in – which were all starts - with at least 15 in eight games and a school record 23 in a home win over Marist in the regular season, which was the second most stops on the year in Division I… Also second on the team with 32 ground balls as he played 661:45 minutes in between the pipes and was 5-6 on the year, allowing nine goals or less in five starts and a season-low six goals on four occasions… Made his collegiate debut at VMI and recorded 16 saves in the Titans’ 8-6 road victory… Stopped 18 shots with a season-high four ground balls in another road win at Wagner and with the 15 saves he had earlier in the week against Bellarmine, he was selected the conference’s Rookie of the Week… Had 17 saves in the MAAC opener at Canisius in another 8-6 triumph with 11 of those stops coming in the second half and five in the fourth period, and after that performance he was named the MAAC’s Defensive Player of the Week… Set a school record with 23 saves against Marist in a 12-11 thrilling win in a game that saw him give up six goals in the first period and eight in the first half only to rebound to let in three the rest of the way and one in the fourth… Came back the next week with 18 saves and four ground balls against Siena… Also had 18 saves at Monmouth in a much needed 11-6 road victory to help Detroit Mercy make the MAAC Championships and a stat line that earned him his second MAAC Defensive POW accolade… Posted 16 saves with four more GB’s in the MAAC Semifinals at Marist. 

Prior to Detroit Mercy: Originally from Canada, Weber earned varsity letters in lacrosse and cross country while playing for the Christ School in Asheville, N.C… A team captain as a senior, he recorded over 300 saves in his career, allowing just 3.0 goals per game and sporting a 78.0 save percentage… He was selected First Team All-American by US Lacrosse in 2011, 2012 and 2013… Also tabbed First Team All-State and All-Conference three times and was the Team MVP as a sophomore, junior and senior… Played club with Team Carolina Elite… Was invited to play in the Top 205 rising seniors camp this past summer and put together a solid performance at the 2012 Adrenaline All-Canada Games Lacrosse Tournament, which included scoring a goal.

Personal: Son of Wendy and Scott Weber… Has two brothers and his oldest brother plays box lacrosse for the Toronto Rock… Chose Detroit Mercybecause it was really close to home and believes the program can make a serious impact in the near future… A Business major.
