Joe Hess returns for his third year with the UDM soccer program... Will look to be a force on the defense.

2007: Saw action in 15 games and received the starting nod 14 times... Part of the defense that helped lead the Titans to eight shutouts on the year.

2006: Suffered a season ending injury.

2005: Played in all 20 games and was in the starting line-up on 15 occasions… Scored a team fourth-best three goals… Netted lone goal in UDM’s 1-0 shutout victory at Green Bay (Sept. 30)... Dished out lone assist of the season in Detroit’s 3-2 overtime victory at UIC (Sept. 25)... Ended the season with a team fifth-best seven points.

High School: 2004 graduate of Canton High School… Earned three varsity letters in soccer… Earned All-Observerland (Canton area) honors twice… Named all-division, all-conference, all-district, all-region and all-state senior season.

Personal: Son of Jerry and Nita Hess… Born on Nov. 5, 1985… Has an older brother, Aaron… Majoring in finance.
