Biography

2012: Played in all 15 games with 14 starts…Finished fourth on the team in points (26) and goals (18), and was tied for third on the squad with eight assists…Also fourth on the team in shots (53) and shots on goal (34), and was second registering a .642 shots on goal percentage…Picked up 14 ground balls…Recorded a season-high three points four times, with three of those occasions coming on hat tricks…Found the back of the net three times at Ohio State, at Quinnipiac and against Marist…Tallied three points on two goals and an assist at Mercer…Posted a goal and an assist at No. 19 Delaware, at Georgetown and at VMI…Had two markers in the MAAC Championship semifinals against Canisius…Added a season-high three ground balls at Mercer and at Quinnipiac…Third on the team with seven penalties…A member of the UDM Athletic Director’s Honor Roll…

2011: One of only three Titans to start all 16 games…Had a tremendous season finishing second in points (39), leading the team with 20 assists and tied for second notching 19 goals – all career highs…Led the team by taking 102 shots on the year, with 56 on net for a .548 shots on goal percentage…Three of his goals were with the man-up and he also had one game winner…Picked up 22 ground balls and caused five turnovers…Twice tabbed the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week…His first was on Mar. 14 after posting nine points on five goals and four assists, along with causing three turnovers and picking up a pair of ground balls in two games…He started the week with a career-best five points at Mount St. Mary's, where he tallied a career-high four goals for his first collegiate hat trick…He then came back to hand out a career-best three assists against Robert Morris and played some great defense too in the Titan comeback effort causing two fourth quarter turnovers that turned into Detroit goals…He was then tabbed the Co-POW on Apr. 18 following his second career hat trick and the game winner in an overtime victory against Canisius…Totaled a career-best six ground balls in Detroit’s first-ever road victory at Siena…Recorded a career-high three caused TO’s against the Colonials of RMU…Started the season with three points on two helpers and a marker at No. 17 Delaware…Had four points on a pair of assists and goals, to go with three ground balls, versus Mercer…Also had four points with two goals in a winning effort over Manhattan…Recorded a point in every MAAC contest, finishing with eight goals and seven assists in conference play…Had three points on two assists and a goal in the MAAC semifinals win over Marist…Also scored in the championship game against Siena…A member of UDM’s Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

2010: The Titans leading playmaker finishing with a team-best 14 assists…Third on the squad with 26 total points and fifth notching 12 goals…Three of his scores were with the man-up…Posted at least one point in 12 of Detroit’s 15 games…Started 13 contests firing 41 total shots with 25 on goal…Also picked up 25 ground balls and had four caused turnovers…Started the year with two goals, an assist and a season-high four GB’s against Bellarmine…Had the first of four games with two assists at Robert Morris…Collected a goal and an assist against Lehigh, Manhattan, VMI and Canisius….In the Titans first-ever win against Presbyterian, he had a goal and two helpers, including assisting on the go-ahead score feeding Ty Maruyama just two minutes into the third quarter breaking a 7-7 tie…Found the back of the net twice at Siena and then recorded his highest point total of the season with four points on two markers and two assists at Yale…Dished out two helpers and tied his season high with four ground balls against Mount St. Mary’s…A member of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

2009: Saw action in all 11 games…Will forever be remembered as the Titan who scored the first Detroit goal at Ohio State, taking a pass from senior teammate Michael Schumacher and firing it in…Finished the season with three goals and an assist for four total points…Took 17 shots with 10 on goal for a .588 shots on goal percentage…Also corralled six groundballs…Scored a season-high two markers at Robert Morris…Grabbed a career best two groundballs on two occasions at No. 3 North Carolina and at Bryant.

Prior to Detroit: A proven offensive player, Harris tallied over 120 career goals and assists in four years as a member of the Saline High Hornets…As a junior, Harris led the team with 47 goals and 42 assists…At the end of the year, he was tabbed All-State, All-Region and All-Area…He also enjoyed an extremely successful summer playing with Champion Lacrosse, where he added 18 goals and 24 assists.

Personal: Son of Amy and John Harris…Has three brothers…His father played baseball and mother played field hockey at Springfield College…Lists the opportunity to play Division I lacrosse as well as Detroit’s academic reputation his reason for attending UDM…A Business major.
