Biography

2014-15: A four-year letter winner, he will go down as one of the best doubles players in school history amassing 51 total wins, including 37 in doubles play, which is fifth all-time in school history... Finished the year at 3-8 in singles and 0-2 in the HL, playing No. 2, 3 and 4... Had six wins in doubles with three at No. 1... Teamed with Ismail Kadyrov for a 7-6 (4) victory over Wright State’s Mason Bourbon and Myles Harris...  Defeated Wayne State’s Gopinath Menta, 6-2, 4-6, 10-3, as well as Montana State Billings’ Austin Kische, 6-2, 6-4, in singles… Also garnered a singles win over Post’s (NY) Nicholas Tadros, 6-3, 6-2… A member of the Detroit Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and the Detroit Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). 

2013-14: Played a majority of the season at No. 2 for Detroit with some matches at No. 1 and No. 3… Had four singles wins, including one in conference, and added another three in doubles… His lone HL win was a 6-4, 7-6 (1) tally over Joey Leto of Green Bay at No. 4… Earned a 4-6, 6-4, 10-8 triumph over GVSU’s Andrew Darrell… Powered his way to a 6-1, 6-5 (4) win over IPFW’s Jonathan Raa… Ended the season with a 7-5, 6-0 victory over IUPUI’s Jacob Bradley of IUPUI… All three of his doubles wins came with Ismail Kadyrov on his side, including an 8-7 (5) mark at No. 2 against Green Bay and Toledo… A member of the Detroit Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and the University of Detroit Mercy Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). 

2012-13: Had a 2-10 (1-2 HL) singles record and a 10-9 (4-2 HL) doubles record… His singles wins came at sixth singles and he won seven doubles matches at the second spot and three at third doubles… Earned his first doubles win of the year against Grand Valley State (2/1)… Won both his singles and doubles matches at Wayne State (2/2)… Won in dominant fashion against Dayton (2/24) in doubles play… Started a streak of three-straight doubles wins with a victory at #3 Lynn (3/5)… Continued the streak with a win against Bentley and opened the Horizon League schedule with a doubles win at Youngstown State (3/23)… earned his second HL victory in doubles play with a 8-5 victory against Wright State (3/30)… Took the first conference win of his career with a 6-3, 6-2 win at sixth singles at Valpo (4/7) and took second doubles, 9-7… Finished the year with a doubles win against Green Bay (4/21) and in the Horizon League Championships against Youngstown State (4/26)... Member of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

2011-12: Had a 5-4 record in singles play and a 18-14 mark in doubles play... Won three of four matches at the Michigan State Fall Invite (9/16-18)... Won 10 of 11 doubles matches paired up with Pablo Nunez from March 3 to April 27.

Prior to Detroit: Played three years of varsity tennis at Rochester Adams...Captained the Highlanders to an Oakland Activities Association (OAA) Red championship in 2011, finishing 17-6 overall...Was named All-State as a junior and senior as he helped the Highlanders win both the regionals and quarterfinals at the state tournament...In his freshman year, he was part of a team that placed second at the state championship.

Personal: Son of Suneel and Vijay... Born in Pontiac... Has one sibling, Anu... Member of Spanish Honors Society and Business Professionals of America... Enjoys video games, spending time with friends and family and basketball... Enjoys the opportunity to compete in a sport he thoroughly enjoys... Major is Computer Science.
