The University of Detroit Mercy women's golf team ended in third place, out of seven teams, at the Chicago State Invitational in Hammond, IN, with a score 328. The second day of the Invitational, which was to occur Monday, was canceled due to inclement weather.
The Titans ended six shots behind first-place Eastern Illinois and four shots behind second-place Dayton.
Sophomore Alainna Stefan (Dearborn, MI/Mercy) ended up winning the individual medal by one shot with a 74, while freshman Jackie DeMarco (LaSalle, ON) and senior Jenny Kubert (Livonia, MI/Stevenson) rounded out the top-three Titans with an 81 and 85, respectively.
The Titans will return to action when they compete in the Wolverine Invitational Sept. 13-14 at the UM Golf Course in Ann Arbor, MI.
