ABOUT MILWAUKEE
Milwaukee comes into the contest having lost two in a row and five of its last six games, with its only win against nationally ranked Butler, 63-60, on Feb. 18. The Panthers currently stand fifth in the Horizon League with a 10-7 mark, and are 15-13 on the year.
The Panthers are third in the conference in scoring at 67.6 points per contest, but they are also ninth in scoring defense allowing 67.8 a night.
Three UWM players are averaging double-digit scoring in junior college transfers Tone Boyle and James Eayrs and senior Avery Smith.
Boyle leads the team and is sixth in the league in scoring at 13.8 points per game., while Eayrs, a 6-10 310 lb center, is third on the squad with 11.3 ppg, which includes 42 3-pointers on the year. He also leads the Panthers with 5.6 rebounds per game. Smith is tallying 11.6 ppg., 5.2 rpg., and 3.0 assists per contest.
Rob Jeter is in his fourth year at the helm of the Panthers, where he owns a 60-60 overall record.
TITANS VS. MILWAUKEE
This will be the 32nd meeting between the two schools with Milwaukee having a one-game edge, 16-15. The Panthers have also won 12 of the last 15 games in the series, which dates back to the 1994-95 season. The Titans are 9-4 all-time against UWM in the Motor City.
POST-SEASON POSSIBILITIES
With the loss to Green Bay, the Titans are locked into the 10th seed in the upcoming Horizon League tournament, though their opponent is still to be determined.
The options for the Titans are Cleveland State and Wright State. A CSU win (over Butler) or a WSU loss (to Green Bay) puts UDM in Cleveland, while a Raider's victory and a Vikings' setback, plus wins by UIC and Valparaiso, puts Detroit in Dayton.
Detroit could know its destination before it tips off as the Cleveland State-Butler contest is set to start at noon. If the Vikings lose, then the Titans will not know until Saturday night where they will go as Wright State and Green Bay is scheduled for a 7:00 start.
