The University of Detroit Mercy women's golf team finished competition at the Butler Invitational Tuesday and ended up in fifth place, out of eight teams, at the Prestwick Country Club in Avon, IN. The Titans posted a two-day total of 664, while Northern Iowa won the event with a team score of 645. Host-school, Butler, finished one stroke better than Detroit for fourth place.
Sophomore
Alainna Stefan was Detroit's top finisher as she placed second after firing a 79 in the second day to add to her 78 from the first round (157). The Titans had two more place in the top 20 as sophomore
Marni Achterhoff placed 14th (166), while sophomore
Liz Zouzal was one stroke behind Achterhoff to finish in 15th.
Ann Arnason (Northern Iowa) captured first place with a two-day total of 154.
The Titans will return to action when they compete at the Northern Kentucky University Spring Invitational in Perry Park, KY, on Saturday.
