After notching its first win of the season on Monday, the UDM softball team took the field for two games on Tuesday, but couldn't get the offense rolling, dropping games to the University of South Dakota and Saint Louis University at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, FL.

Senior centerfielder Erica Houthoofd (Unionville, MI/Unionville-Sebewaing) recorded the Titans lone hit against South Dakota. Detroit (1-5) managed to draw five walks, but the lack of hitting the Titans in as they fell, 11-0, in five innings.

Freshman Anna Bondy (Newport, MI/Carleton-Airport) went all five innings in the circle, striking out six and walking one batter.

The Titans faced off with Saint Louis immediately afterwards, hoping to get some offense going in a hurry, but it was the Billikens that got on the board early. Saint Louis put up eight runs in the first three innings, capped off by a five-run third inning, and left UDM playing catch up. The Titans finally found some offense late, but not enough, as they put up a singe run in the fifth and sixth innings, and falling by a final of 8-2.
