The Detroit women's golf team received the automatic bid into the NCAA Regional by winning the Horizon League Championship yesterday and today, the Titans found out their destination as UDM will head to Columbus, IN, for the Central Regional.

The Titans, along with 23 other schools and a few at-large individuals, will hit the links at the Otter Creek Golf Course from May 6-8. The top eight teams from each regional as well the top two individuals not on an advancing team, will move on to the NCAA Championship in Wilmington, NC.

Detroit took home its first league title and NCAA Regional appearance by winning the HL Championship with a 943 score, nine strokes ahead of Youngstown State. First team All-Horizon League junior Alainna Stefan (Dearborn, MI/Mercy) won the event shooting a 226, while junior teammate and All-Tournament honoree Marni Achterhoff was runner-up carding a 229. Head coach Terri-Anthony Ryan was also named the league's Coach of the Year.
