Final Results

JACKSONVILLE BEACH Fla. -- Alainna Stefan (Dearborn, MI/Mercy) shot a tournament and career-best even par 72 on Tuesday as the senior captured medalist honors at the Benbow Invitational.

As a team, the Titans placed fourth with a 649 (325, 324), finishing ahead of Horizon League schools Loyola (652), Butler (654), Youngstown State (655), Green Bay (686) and Cleveland State (697). Houston Baptist won the event with a 634, while Florida Atlantic (638) and IUPUI (645) took second and third, respectively.

Stefan carded a 150 (78, 72) to win the fourth individual title of her career and she did so with some great play down the stretch. She started round two tied for fifth place just two strokes off the lead, but she separated herself from the pack with an eagle on the 16th hole and ended her day with back-to-back pars to go into the clubhouse holding the top spot.

Freshman Lindsey Lammers (Milan, MI/Milan) had the second best score for Detroit with a 160 (79, 81), while junior Liz Zouzal (Windsor, ON/Holy Names) posted a 169 (81, 88).

After playing three events in Florida, the Titans will now return home with their next competition at the IPFW Spring Classic, held at the Pine Valley Country Club on Apr. 3-4.
