SEAFORTH, Ontario -- It has been a great year for 2010 Titan graduate and 2011 winner of the golf channel's Big Break Indian Wells David Byrne and it is only getting better as Byrne will play in his first-ever Canadian Tour event this week at the Seaforth Country Classic. He earned the opportunity to play in the event through a sponsor exemption.
The event will take place at the Seaforth Golf Club in Seaforth, Ontario, with the first round getting underway on Thursday, Aug. 18. Also in the event is two-time Seaforth Country Classic winner Kent Eger, the golfer Byrne topped to win Big Break Indian Wells.
Byrne captured the latest Big Break championship in July giving him an exemption to the 2012 Zurich Classic of New Orleans, along with $70,000 in cash, a $10,000 Adams Golf endorsement deal and a $10,000 shopping spree at Dicks Sporting Goods.
Along with vying for a Canadian Tour title, Byrne will be involved in a plethora of the tournament's events, including participating in the Championship Pro-Ams, the Junior "Wee Break" competition and a guest speaker at the Championship Pro-Am Dinner.
