Box Score WILMINGTON, N.C. (2/10/13) – The Detroit Titans softball team ended the UNC-Wilmington Beach Blast with a loss to Omaha, 5-2, Sunday morning at Boseman Field.
 
Allayna Stolp had an RBI triple and scored a run for the Titans while in the circle, Julia Maksym was charged with the loss after 4 2/3 innings of work.
 
UNO struck first with a solo home run in the bottom of the first. The Mavericks threatened in the second and again in the fourth, but Maksym and the defense forced them to leave three runners stranded.
 
Detroit got on the board in the top of the fifth as Stolp ripped a one-out triple down the left field line to plate Maksym and tie the game at one. Stolp then crossed the plate as Alyssa Schaub hit a sacrifice fly to right to give UDM a 2-1 lead.

The Mavs answered with four runs with two outs in the bottom half of the fifth to retake the lead en route to the 5-2 victory.
 
The Titans will return to the field when they travel to Southaven, Miss., for the Blues City Classic from Feb. 22-24. UDM will open the event with games against Wichita State and Southeast Missouri State.
