There will be live stats for this contest, but it WILL NOT be carried on the Horizon League Network. Titan fans can follow every UDM game this season through the women's basketball
GAMEDAY CENTRAL page located on the Titans Athletic Website that will keep fans one click away from all the action. This page will feature links for live stats (audio and video when applicable) as well as links for all the latest info while also making it easy to find the Titans on social media and to purchase photos and game tickets.
The Titans (19-13) got to this point with wins over Belmont (71-68) and the College of Charleston (79-67) in the first two rounds of the postseason tournament. UDM is averaging 75.0 ppg., while shooting 43.1% from the field and 85.2% at the free throw line.
A victory would send the red, white and blue to the WBI title game and give UDM its 20th win of the year, which would be the first time since 1980-82 that the Titans would have posted back-to-back 20-win campaigns.
Penn comes into the game at 18-12 with wins over seventh-seeded Howard (65-60) and third-seeded Fairfield (49-48), the latter on a last-second buzzer beater. The Quakers were 9-5 in the Ivy League, but lost three of their last four in conference play after winning six in a row and eight of nine.
Alyssa Baron - who has led the Ivy League in scoring as a freshman and sophomore - leads the team again at 14.2 ppg. She also tops the Quakers in rebounds (6.4), assists (3.9) and steals (1.9). Keiera Ray is second in scoring at 10.6 ppg., while Kara Bonenberger is at 9.2 ppg.
Penn is averaging 58.2 ppg., while allowing just 55.9.
This is the first career meeting between Detroit and Penn, and just the fourth career game the Titans have played against the Ivy League.
The winner of the game will move into the WBI Championship against the winner of No. 6 South Dakota and No. 8 McNeese State out of the west side of the bracket.
ABOUT THE WBI
Run by Sport Tours International, the Women's Basketball Invitational is in its fourth season and provides a choice for postseason worthy Division I Women's teams who wish to continue their season, but who do not qualify for the NCAA Tournament. The 16 team event will take place over two weeks with all games being played on campus sites.
Notable teams that have participated in the past have been Louisville, Memphis, Minnesota, Washington and two Horizon League teams in Wright State (2011, 2012) and Cleveland State (2011).
Winners in the past have included Appalachian State in 2010, UAB in 2011 and Minnesota last season.
WE'RE #1
Detroit received the No. 1 seed in the East region of the WBI and with the top spot, UDM has hosted all three games so far that it has played in.
If the Titans' winning streak continues, Detroit will host the championship game on Monday, Apr. 1, at 7:00 p.m., in Calihan Hall against the winner of #6 South Dakota State and #8 McNeese State West Region Finals.
TITAN POSTSEASON HISTORY
Since the NCAA started sponsoring women's basketball in 1981, Detroit has made three postseason tournaments. Detroit made the 1997 NCAA Tournament and was in the WNIT last season.
Prior to that, Detroit competed in the State Small College, State Large College, Region 5 and the AIAW (Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women) Tournament's between 1977-1981.
Detroit captured three state titles from 1979-81 and took part in the AIAW National Tournament in 1981.
At the time, the AIAW National Tournament was the big tournament of the day.
ALL-TIME POSTSEASON RECORD
Counting the early days of the state tournaments, the Titans are 18-7 all-time in the postseason.
UDM's first round win in the WBI was the first in the postseason since it beat Ohio State, 54-49, in the Region 5 Tournament in 1981
AGAINST THE IVY
This will be just the fourth career meeting between the Titans and a member of the Ivy League with UDM owning a 2-1 mark.
Detroit last played a member of the Ivy League in 2004 beating Yale, 69-56, at the Buckeye Classic in Columbus, Ohio.
UDM also defeated Brown, 63-39, in 1994 and lost to Dartmouth, 88-82, in 1997.
BACK-TO-BACK WINNING SEASONS
Detroit is 19-13 on the year and has clinched its second straight winning season.
The Titans posted their first 20-win season since 1997 last year and now have back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 2001 (17-12) and 2002 (16-14).
This season also marks the first time since 1995-96 (19-8) and 1996-97 (23-7) that UDM has won at least 19 games in back-to-back years.
A Detroit win would give the Titans back-to-back 20-win campaigns for the first time since they had four-straight years of 20 wins from 1978-82.
Under Coach Rademacher, Detroit has had two winning seasons in the last three years after having just one in its previous seven.
A RUDE HOST
UDM is 14-1 at home this season - averaging 77.0 ppg - with a +17.5 scoring margin. Detroit saw its 15-game home winning streak snapped against nationally-ranked Green Bay on Feb. 28. At the time, it was tied for the seventh longest in the nation and was the second longest home winning streak in Titan history, two away from the record.
Detroit has also won at least 11 games at Calihan Hall for the second-straight season.
The 14 wins are also a new school record breaking the perfect 13-0 mark of the 1986-87 squad.
MORE ON CALIHAN MAGIC
Over a longer stretch of time, the Titans have posted a 25-4 ledger in their last 29 home games dating back to the 2010-11 campaign, as well as 40-12 in their last 52 home games.
UDM is also 48-23 in Calihan Hall since head coach Autumn Rademacher returned to her alma mater in 2008.
In their 35-year history, the Titans have enjoyed a 276-144 (.634) home court record.

MINE TO BREAK
It is one thing to break a record, but when you are a sophomore breaking a school record that you set as a freshman, now that is something to write about and
Shareta Brown did just that.
She set the Titan school record with 611 points last season and upped that mark to 654 so far this season.
Brown already is the quickest Titan to ever score 1,000 points as she accomplished the task in her 51st career game at home against UIC on Jan. 26, surpassing Cassandra Pack (1983-87) – the Titans' all-time leading scorer – who reached 1,000 points in her 57th career game and as a junior.
She is currently 11th in school history with 1,265 points, just 22 away from Regina Pierce's (1981-85) total of 1,287.
ANOTHER TOP 10
While her scoring is what she is noted for, sophomore
Shareta Brown is now 10th in school history with 591 rebounds, 17 away from Nina Rouser's (1993-97) ninth-place total of 608.
BROWN ALERT
Attention, sophomore
Shareta Brown has another record add to her sensational career breaking the UDM record for career free throws and free throws attempted.
In her career, she is 386-for-540 (71.5%), surpassing Cassandra Pack's (1984-87) numbers of 380-of-513.
MAKING THEM PAY
After going 14-of-21 at the free throw line against Youngstown State on Mar. 7, the Titans have connected on 67-of-80 (83.8%) in their last five games.
WORKING THE GLASS
Junior
Megan Hatter has grabbed seven rebounds in each of her last two games after averaging just 3.3 rpg., coming into the WBI.
CAN SHE GET THERE?
Senior
Demeisha Fambro already has a career year going on with 358 points on the team and an 11.5 average, second on the team and 16th in the Horizon League.
Fambro also has career highs in every statistical category posting 140 rebounds (4.5), 66 assists (2.1), 33 steals (1.1), 132 field goals, 45 three-point field goals and 49 free throws.
Her 109 career treys is now 10th in school history, just three away from Catie Goddard (2002-06) and her ninth-place total of 112.
She is also at 957 career points, just 43 away from becoming the 19th player in school history to reach 1,000.
SHE KEEPS GOING AND GOING...
After dominating the College of Charleston with a season-tying 23 points, senior
Yar Shayok is now 13th in school history with 1,211 points, 44 away from Shari Hill's (1997-01) 1,255 career markers.
SOMEONE HASN'T BEEN PLAYING WELL WITH OTHERS
Senior
Yar Shayok will leave Detroit as a school record holder with her tough defensive play - she is a two-time All-Horizon League Defensive Team selection - yielding 343 career fouls, breaking Cheryl Williams' (1979-82) mark of 322.
SHEARER NOW TOP 8 IN 3'S
Junior
