Men's Basketball Thriller Lift
Men's Lacrosse Gumby Lift

DETROIT (11/3/2014) -- One of the jobs of the University of Detroit Mercy Strength & Conditioning staff is to motivate the Titans student-athletes and on Halloween, the department did just that staging a UDM Halloween costume party in conjunction with the teams scheduled lift times.

"There were a lot of great costumes and memories made during the "Lift or Treat" Halloween lift," said Director of Strength and Conditioning Sean Williamson. "I would like to thank all of those that participated and a special thanks to the great student athletes we have for making it fun, while getting their work in."

Some of the highlights included the men's basketball team's video of Michael Jackson's Thriller with freshman Aaron Foster-Smith providing the dance moves, the men's lacrosse teams unique costumes which had one player dress as Gumby for a lift and the women's golf team arriving at 5:00 a.m., for their work out and still got in the Holiday spirit by dressing up.

Team and individual winners were picked as the men's lacrosse team that lifted at 1:00 p.m., and had Gumby, Luigi and MC Hammer was third, the softball team featuring a variety of different costumes led by Sharknado, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and a pack of ninjas, was second and the women's lacrosse team took home first with the old ladies leading the way.

Individually, first place went to softball's Bayley Broadwater and Hannah Leppek as hobos. Second place was awarded to the women's lacrosse old ladies in Lexie McCormick, Annelise Niermann, Morgan Lear, Annie Mendoza, Taylor Marshall and Tessa Keuler and third place was men's lacrosse's Jordan Yono as Gumby.

9th Place – Men's Lacrosse Andy Hebden as the Ghost
10th Place – Men's Lacrosse Seth Horwat as Toledo football great Sean Williamson
