LAKE MARY, Fla. (3/7/2014) -- Seniors
Lindsey Lammers and
Christina Thorne finished in the top five as the University of Detroit Mercy women's golf team held a duel against Seminole State College of Florida on Friday.
The one-round match-up was contested on the Par 72, 6,171-yard Timacuan Golf Club in Lake Mary, Fla.
Lammers carded a 78 as she was able to record two birdies and 10 pars in her first action of the spring.
Thorne had a team-high three birdies with seven pars and led the field with a 1-under, 2.75 average on the course's Par 3's.
Freshman
Sarah Thompson tallied an 84 for 10th, while junior
Olivia Richards shot an 85 for 11th. Thompson had one birdie on the afternoon and Richards knocked in nine pars.
As a team, Detroit posted a 326 compared to Seminole State's 311.
The Titans will get right back to work as they host a Tri-Meet with Horizon League foe UIC and Seminole State on Sunday, March 9, at the Sherwood Golf Club in Titusville, Fla.
