BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (4/13/2014) -- In the final regular season event before they defend its crown at the Horizon League Championship, the University of Detroit Mercy women's golf team was able to record top-six finishes as an individual and as a team with the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational coming to an end on Sunday.
 
Detroit shot a 325 on the day to move up to place fifth with a 644 (319-325), finishing ahead of some HL competition in Oakland, Cleveland State and UIC at the Par 72, 5,960-yard Stone Ridge Golf Club.
 
Senior Lindsey Lammers picked up another top-10 tournament as she tied for sixth with a 156 (74-82). The reigning Horizon League Player of the Year and the leader in the conference in stroke average led the tournament with 27 pars and Par 4 scoring (+4, 4.20 average) en route to her 24th career top-10 effort, including in all 10 events this year and 18 of her last 19 tournaments since her junior year.
 
Senior Christina Thorne carded the best round on Sunday for Detroit with a 78 to earn a share of 15th with a 160 (82-78), her 18th career top-20 finish.
 
Freshman Sarah Thompson tied for 26th totaling a 163 (82-81), while junior Olivia Richards posted a 165 (81-84) for 35th.
 
The red, white and blue will now have almost two weeks to get ready for another run at the league title as the Horizon League Championship will be held from April 25-27 at the Mission Inn Resort In Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla.
