INDIANAPOLIS (1/13/2015) -- University of Detroit Mercy sophomore
Ryan Leahy (St. Joseph, Mich. / St. Joseph) earned the Horizon League's Runner of the Week from the league office after his performance over the weekend at the Eastern Michigan Quadrangular.
Leahy ran a personal-best time of 8:40.64 to win the 3,000-meters at the EMU Quadrangular. He topped his previous best collegiate time in the 3,000m by nearly one second. Leahy won the event by more than one second in his lone run of the meet.
Leahy currently has the eighth best time in the 3,000 meter run in Titan history and has two more top-10 times in the 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters in his young Detroit career.
The Titans return action on Saturday, Jan. 17, at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational on the campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
