Cohen Earns Horizon League Player of the Week Honor
University of Detroit Mercy sophomore Brianne Cohen (Toronto, Ont. / York Memorial) was named Horizon League Player of the Week on Monday following her performance last week as the Titans went 2-0 on the road.

Cohen averaged 21.0 points, 6.5 rebounds per game last week and shot 80 percent from the floor (16-of-20) in Detroit's two road victories. She tied her career-high twice, scoring 21 points in both wins at Cleveland State and Youngstown State. It's her first-career Horizon League weekly honor.

In Detroit's 66-60 victory over the Vikings, Cohen sank her first eight shots of the game and finished with 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting. She pulled down eight rebounds, seven of them on the offensive side. Cohen followed it up with a 7-of-8 shooting performance at YSU, leading the squad with 21 points in Detroit's road win against the Penguins. It was her third 21-point game in the past five games and fourth game of 20 points in 2015-16.

The weekly honor is the second this season for a UDM women's basketball student-athlete after Rosanna Reynolds received the honor on Jan. 11.

Titans Win Thriller at Youngstown State, 69-68
Junior Haleigh Ristovski the game-winning shot with 1.6 seconds left to lift the Titans to a 69-68 victory at Youngstown State on Saturday at the Beeghly Center. It also capped off a 2-0 week for the Titans, which are off to their best start since the 2012-13 season. The Titans went 3-1 on their four-game road trip and evened their record at 11-11 overall.

The Titans trailed 68-65 with 1:00 left in the game, but scored the final four points of the game. After a Detroit timeout, junior guard Rosanna Reynolds onverted on a lay-up with 46 seconds left to pull Detroit to within one point, 68-67. Detroit forced a YSU turnover on the ensuing possession as the shot clock ran out.

Reynolds missed on a jumper with nine seconds left, but Detroit earned one more opportunity as the ball went out of bounds off YSU. Haleigh Ristovski drove down the baseline and converted on a tough shot underneath the rim with just 1.6 seconds left on the clock.

Cohen finished the game with a career-high-tying 21 points. It was her second-straight game of 21 and third this season. She connected on 7-of-8 shots and 7-of-10 free throw attempts. Urbanick hit 4-of-8 3-point attempts and tallied 16 points. Jackson was the third member in double figures, finishing with 11 points.
