Box Score 2 CLEARWATER, Fla. (3/11/16) - Junior
Jenna Reeves' RBI single in the bottom of the seventh gave Detroit a comeback victory that salvaged a two-game split on day one of the USF Under Armour Showcase on Friday from the Sunshine State.
The Titans (6-17) squandered a lead and fell in Friday's opener against Iona 10-4, but bounced back with a thrilling comeback win over UMass Lowell (3-10) in the nightcap, 9-8.
Detroit trailed UMass Lowell 8-2 after three lopsided innings, but stormed back into the game with a six-run fourth inning that tied the game at 8-8. After a pair of scoreless innings, Reeves propelled the Titans to the 9-8 win in the bottom of the seventh with a walk-off single.
Senior
Christa McGahuey led off the fourth with a walk and Reeves sparked the rally with a triple down the right field line. The Titans recorded three straight singles to cut the deficit to 8-5, before tying the game on back-to-back bunts that cleared the bases.

Ashley Mauser was able to escape the threat with a harmless groundout and a strikeout.
McGahuey sparked the rally in the seventh with a one-out double to right center, before Reeves' RBI single up the middle ended the game and gave Detroit the hard fought victory.
Reeves was one of four Titans who recorded multiple hits in the game, going 2-for-4 with a run, a triple and two RBI.
Kristen Garceau went 3-for-4 with two runs and a RBI, while
Laura Villagrana went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and McGahuey went 2-for-3 with a walk.
Junior
Alexis Robison-Kohrs got the start and received a no decision after allowing five runs (two earned) on eight hits and five walks in 3.2 innings pitched. Mauser earned her third win of the season after holding the Riverhawks to one hit over 2.2 scoreless innings in relief.
In the opener, Detroit rallied from a 3-1 deficit with three runs in the bottom of the fifth to surge ahead, 4-3. Iona evened the game with a run in the top of the sixth and took control of the game with six runs in the seventh.
Alyssa James went 1-for-2 with a run and a walk, while Garceau went 1-for-4 with a run and
Katy Severson went 1-for-3. Sophomore
Savvy Ferstle picked up a run and a RBI, while Reeves reached twice on walks and added a RBI.
The Titans return to action on Saturday against Butler and New Mexico State on day two of the USF Under Armour Showcase. Detroit squares off against the Bulldogs at 9:15 a.m., before facing the Aggies at 11:30 a.m.
