DETROIT (2/13/2017) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's fencing team competed at nearby Wayne State University over the weekend with the Titans going 1-2 as a team at the event, held at the Matthaei Center.
Detroit Mercy earned a 16-10 victory over Oakland and fell to both Michigan State (24-3) and Wayne State (22-3).
Freshman
Chanel Lindsay led the Titans in victories on the day, recording a mark of 4-5 in the epee. Sophomore
Erica Tessmer was 3-5 in the sabre for the Titans, while
Nicole Fitch added two more bout wins for Detroit Mercy in the sabre.

Julian Slavsky each added triumphs for the Titans in the foil.
Detroit Mercy next competes competitively at the Midwest Fencing Conference Championships from Feb. 25-26 at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
