YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (5/6/17) – The University of Detroit Mercy men's track and field team wrapped up competition on day two of the Horizon League Outdoor Championships on Saturday night from Farmers National Bank Field.
 
HIGHLIGHTS

• Senior Jacob Whitting took fourth in the decathlon with a PR of 5,734 points – improving his #2 all-time mark in the Titan record books. Whitting took first in the javelin with a PR and closed the decathlon with a PR in the 110m hurdles.
• Adam Fraeyman took seventh in the 3,000m steeplechase to net two points for Detroit Mercy.
• The Titans placed two in the finals of the 400m, with Carlton Sims taking sixth and Zach Arnold taking eighth in the preliminary rounds.
• Brendan McClanahan qualified for the 800m finals after taking seventh in preliminaries.
• Andrew Heitzhaus hit a PR of 58.70 in the 400H.
