CLEVELAND, Ohio (1/22/2018) -- Sophomores
Chanel Lindsay and
Danielle Spencer each posted five bout wins Saturday, Jan. 20 to help lead the University of Detroit Mercy women's fencing team at the Cleveland State Duals, held in Cleveland, Ohio.
Lindsay and Spencer each went 5-6 on the day in their respective weapons, Lindsay in epee and Spencer in foil. Spencer went 3-0 against Denison, while Lindsay posted a 2-0 mark against Cleveland State.
As a team, the Titans went 2-3 overall, earning victories over Cleveland State (15-11) and Indiana (19-4). Detroit Mercy had two narrow losses against Denison (16-10) and Case Western Reserve (14-10), also falling to the University of Michigan by a 26-1 margin.

Erica Tessmer and sophomore
Savannah Lee each went 4-5 in the weapon. Newcomer
Aya El-Mokadam earned four bout victories in epee as well for the Titans on Saturday.
The Titans are back in action next weekend, Saturday, Jan. 27 at the Notre Dame DeCicco Duals in South Bend, Ind.
