Alexa Hatz each tallied a team-best 80 in the second round as the University of Detroit Mercy women's golf team concluded play at Bowling Green's Dolores Black Falcon Invitational on Sunday.
The event was the final tournament of the regular season for the Titans as they will now prepare for the Horizon League Championship.Â
Payne led the Titans with a 163 (83-80) tying for 54th after knocking in two birdies and nine pars in her final round. After starting the day four over on her first three holes, she settled in and was 1-over on her next 13 holes.
Hatz tied for 65th with a 165 (85-80), while freshman
Shana Murphy placed 80th with a 170 (86-84).
As a team, Detroit Mercy finished 15th totaling a 670 (341-329) on the Par 72, 5,829-yard Stone Ridge Golf Club.
The red, white and blue will now get ready for the Horizon League Championship which is back at the Mission Inn Resort's Las Colinas Course in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida, from Apr. 22-24.
