DETROIT (11/12/19) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's cross country team is looking to compete against the best in the country in one of the final races of the season, the Great Lakes Regional Championship.
The event will be held on Friday, Nov. 15, at Wisconsin's Zimmer Championship course with the women's 6k at 12:30 p.m. (EST) and the men's 10k to follow at 1:30 p.m.
The race will have live results and will be broadcast live by Flo Track.
The men will bring a full squad to the race as they look to improve on its seventh-place performance at the Horizon League championship.
Detroit Mercy did see senior
James McCann earn 11th for Second Team All-Horizon League accolades, while sophomore
Dakota Hundley claimed 23rd and junior
Thomas Mueller was 39th.
The top-25 runners will be named All-Region, while the top two finishing teams at each regional meet earn an automatic qualifying bid to the 2019 NCAA Division I championships.
The Titan men had a great showing last season at NCAA Great Lakes Regional with
Ben Kendell taking second place in the 10k with a time of 31:11, which also happened to be the second-best 10k time in school history. McCann also broke the top-75 in the 10k with a time of 32:33.
The men's best finish ever was 16th accomplished in 2014 and 1985.
