BOCA RATON, Fla.  (2/18/2019) -- Sophomore Shana Murphy shot a career-low 75 in day two of the FAU Preview as the University of Detroit Mercy women golf team finished their first event of the spring season on Monday.

Murphy rebounded from a slow start on day one to knock in three birdies in her first seven holes and ended the round with nine pars for the 3-over 75. 

Redshirt sophomore Julia Shaw led the team with a 159 (78-81), tying for 25th place.

Sophomore Alexa Hatz carded a 161 (83-78), which included a 78 in the second round, while redshirt sophomore Kendall Payne shared 38th with a 161 (80-82). 

As a team, the Titans recorded a 642 (326-316) for seventh at the Par 72, 6,062-yard Osprey Point Golf Course. 

The red, white and blue will be back in action in two weeks when they play in the Seminole State Spring Break Tournament from March 5-6.
