Jordan Manno homered in the top of the first, giving the Titans an early 1-0 lead.

Central Michigan answered with a run in the bottom of the first, tying the game 1-1.

The Chippewas put one run on the board in the fourth and two in the fifth, taking a 4-1 lead late in the game.

In the bottom of the sixth, Regan Glenn came in and tossed a hitless inning, retiring all three batters that she faced.

Mortensen led off the top of the seventh with a walk, followed by a pinch hit single from Emily Wagenbrenner and a single to right center field from Sydney Pollock

The Titans posed a major threat with the bases loaded and no outs, and Gilbert drove home a run on a fielder's choice, making the score 4-2.

A single through the left side from Kori Keyes halved the deficit to 4-3, and kept the Titans in the game.

The rally fell just short, with a flyout to right field ending the action by a final of 4-3.

DETROIT MERCY 3 -- CENTRAL MICHIGAN 1
Cami Sinclair got the start in game two of the doubleheader, and she pitched a strong 2.1 innings, scattering a mere four hits and one earned run.

The Titans backed up Sinclair with run support starting in the top of the second.

Tanguay started the inning with a walk, followed by a double to left center from Mortensen, bringing Tanguay all the way around and giving the Titans a 1-0 lead.

Gilbert led off the top of the third with a double to right center. A shot to the exact same spot from Boteler brought Gilbert home and doubled the Titans lead to 2-0.

The Chippewas scored their lone run of the game in the bottom of the third, halving the Titans lead to 2-1.

However, the red, white and blue got it right back in the top of the fourth when Lang homered to left center field, bringing the Titans lead back up to two runs, 3-1.

Ashley Mauser entered the game in the bottom of the third and tossed a strong 4.2 innings for the red, white and blue.
