YPSILANTI, Mich. (1/25/2020) - The University of Detroit Mercy women's track and field team competed close to home after being snowed in from competition last weekend.
FreshmanÂ
Micah Carey took a top-five finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.48-meters. Carey went on to compete in three other events finishing 10th in the triple jump, 23rd in the 60-meter hurdles, and contributing to the 4x400-meter relay.
SeniorÂ
Kyri Jackson also had a stellar weekend claiming top ten spots in two events. Jackson was the top Titan in the open 200m, finishing seventh with a time of 25.88 and the open 60m, finishing ninth with a time of 7.84.

Brynne Gustafson set the pace as she finished with a have of 14.25m in the weight, followed closely by freshmanÂ
Margaret Iwu with a 13.89m throw and freshmanÂ
Kayla Smith with a 13.69m mark.

Taylor Tomman and seniorÂ
Kye May came within .50 seconds of each other in the 400m dash. May finished 11th in a time of 1:01.09 and Tomman was 15th in 1:01.59.
JuniorÂ
Rebecca Measel placed 11th in the 1000m run with a time of 3:14 as the only Titan in the event.Â
Detroit Mercy will be in full indoor season swing and will prepare for a quick turn around next week at the Youngstown National Invitational on Jan. 31.Â
