DETROIT (4/27/2020) -- The University of Detroit Mercy Department of Athletics is unveiling its All-Decade Teams of the 2010s, compiling the best student-athletes across the past 10 seasons (2010-19) into a First and Second Team in each intercollegiate sport. Next up is a program that captured a Horizon League Championship during the 2011-12 season, advancing the NCAA Tournament, as well as earning a spot in the NIT the following season in 2012-13.

Several individuals starred during the decade including guard Ray McCallum, who was the Horizon League Newcomer of the Year in 2010-11 and the Horizon League Player of the Year in 2012-13, during his final season with the Titans. McCallum became the latest in a long line of Titans that were drafted into the NBA as he was selected with the 36th pick by the Sacramento Kings in the 2013 NBA Draft.

Current Titan guard Antoine Davis was one of four Titans who were named a Horizon League Newcomer or Freshman of the Year during the decade as he earned the honor after his standout freshman campaign in 2018-19. Davis, a two-time First Team All-Horizon League player including the 2019-20 campaign, made national headlines during his freshman campaign as he broke Steph Curry's freshman NCAA record for 3-pointers made in a season (132), while also ranking third in the country in scoring (26.1 points per game).

Paris Bass (2014-15) and Corey Allen (2016-17) also earned Horizon League Freshman of the Year honors during the decade, while forward and recent Detroit Mercy Athletics Hall of Fame inductee Eli Holman was voted as the Horizon League Sixth Player of the Year following the 2011-12 campaign.

Twelve Titans earned All-League honors during the decade, including five players picking up First Team laurels. McCallum was a three-time All-Horizon League recipient and was twice voted to the First Team. Nick Minnerath, Paris Bass and Davis were also voted First Team. Juwan Howard, Jr. was a multiple All-Horizon League honoree as he was voted Second Team All-League in back-to-back seasons (2013-14, 2014-15). Ten Titans were named to the All-Horizon League Newcomer or Freshman Teams during the 2010-19 span.

The Titans won four-straight Horizon League Tournament games during the 2011-12 campaign, picking up a 70-50 win at Valparaiso to capture its first Horizon League title since 1998-99. The following season, Detroit Mercy again had 20 wins and a 12-4 Horizon League mark to advance to the NIT.

Eight Titans surpassed 1,000 career points in a Titan uniform during the decade with McCallum (1,618 points), Davis (1,513), Josh McFolley (1,456), Juwan Howard, Jr. (1,404), Chase Simon (1,386), Jason Calliste (1,107), Eli Holman (1,024) and Anton Wilson (1,005) all surpassing the plateau during the 2010-19 seasons.

Also, over 20 Detroit Mercy student-athletes have gone on to professional careers in the NBA, NBA G League or overseas, with several earning awards for their play.
