INDIANAPOLIS (6/23/2021) -- For the third time this year, graduate senior Kayla Hughes was named to an All-Academic Team, while senior Charles Hilsenbeck and juniors Daniel Lanfear and Payton Norkey were selected to the Horizon League All-Academic Team for outdoor track and field on Wednesday.

Hughes was honored for the second-straight year on the outdoor All-Academic Team and for the sixth time in her career as she has been tabbed three times in cross country and once for indoor track and field. Lanfear was honored on the indoor All-Academic Team in 2020, while the selection marks the first for Hilsenbeck and Norkey in their careers. 

Hughes was 11th in the 10,000-meters and 20th in the 5000-meters at the Horizon League Championships. She also set career bests in the 1500m, 5000m and 10,000m on the season, while posting a perfect 4.0 in Engineering. 

Lanfear - who possesses a 3.85 GPA in Computer Science, scored by placing fourth in the high jump at the Horizon League Championships. During the season, he won the high jump at Notre Dame's Bob Harris Open and the Golden Grizzlies T&F Invite.

Hilsenbeck - who holds a 3.61 in Business - was part of two relay teams that scored at the HL Championships as the 4x100 took third and the 4x400 fourth. 

Norkey - a 3.66 GPA in Civil Engineering - earned points for the Titans taking fifth in the 110-meter hurdles and was a member of the fourth-4x100-meter relay at the Horizon League Championships. He won the 110-meter hurdles at Notre Dame's Bob Harris Open and had a great day at the Golden Grizzlies T&F Invite finishing second in the 110-hurdles, third in the 400 hurdles and ran on the first-place 4x400.
