Ariel Chang recorded her second-straight top-10 effort as play concluded at the Golden Grizzlie Invitational on Monday at the par 72, 5,972-yard at Katke-Cousins Golf Course.
Detroit Mercy tallied a 320 in the final round to place fourth with a 619 (299-320). The first round 299 mark was tied for the sixth-lowest team score in school history.
Chang shot a 78 to share third with a 149 (71-78). She knocked in 13 pars on the final 18 and led all competitors with 26 over the course of two rounds, while adding three birdies.
She also was tied for the tournament lead with a 1-over 4.05 average on the course's par 4's.
Senior
Kendall Payne carded a 77 and tied for 18th with a 155 (78-77) total as her final 18 included four birdies and six pars. She led the team with six birdies, tied for the third-most in the field.
Senior
Alexa Hatz posted an 84 and shared 22nd overall with a 157 (73-84), while junior
Sydney Bradford registered a career-low 162 (77-85) for 30th and was second on the team with five birdies.
Playing as an individual, junior
Shae Zydeck carded a career-best 77 on the day and tied for 33rd with a 164 (87-77). She had two birdies and 10 pars in the final round and played the par 3's to a 1-over, 3.13 average.
