DETROIT (2/3/22) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's and women's track teams are set to head down to Akron, OH. for the Akron Invitational Feb. 4-5.
Last Time Out
Dante Bassham placed first in the men's 60-Meter Dash with a time of 6.96 seconds.
Elijah Major took first in the 200-Meter Dash with a 22.59 second time. Finally,
Payton Norkey finished first in the 400-Meter Dash in 53.59 seconds.
Other Titans men's competitors to take gold at Central Michigan were
Thomas Mueller with a personal record in the 3000-Meter Run,
Daniel Lanfear in the High Jump and
Aquari Walker in the Triple Jump.
Josie Arnold took second in the women's 800-Meter and earned female Titan of the Week honors while
Alexa Krauth placed third in the 60-Meter Hurdles.
In the field,
Le'Gary Jackson earned second in the High Jump and
Zoe Madden led the Titans by finishing third in the Long Jump.
On To Akron
The Titans will compete at Akron in the 18th annual two day Akron Invitational event.
Detroit Mercy has not competed in Akron since the 2008-09 season.

Following the two day affair in Akron, the red, white, and blue will travel to Allendale, MI. for the Grand Valley State Big Meet Feb. 11-12 before wrapping up the regular season indoor schedule at the University of Michigan.
