SANFORD, Fla. (3/11/2022) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's golf team was hard at work all week in the Sunshine State and opened the spring season with a tri-match on Friday.
The Titans took on Seminole State College of Florida and Eastern Florida State College at the par 72, 6,370-yard Mayfair Golf Club in Sanford, Florida.
The Titans totaled a 315 on the day.
Graduate senior
Kendall Payne led the way with a 3-over 75 for a share of fourth, while senior
Alexa Hatz tallied a 5-over 77 for eighth. Payne had 12 pars and two birdies and Hatz registered 12 pars and a birdie.

Shana Murphy posted an 80 and tied for 12th, knocking in two birdies and junior
Sydney Bradford carded an 83.
Detroit Mercy will now get ready for its first tournament of the championship season as it competes in Cleveland State's Nevel Meade Collegiate from Mar. 21-22 at Nevel Meade Golf Club in Prospect, Kentucky.
