DETROIT (3/12/2022) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team will hit the road to Tennessee, but weather has already played a factor as the Titans are set to compete in Tennessee Tech's Bobby Nichol's Intercollegiate.
With cold weather and rain in the forecast, the event has been moved to 36-holes with 18 on Monday and 18 on Tuesday at the par 72, 6,891-yard Sevierville Golf Club's River Course. It will be a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. on day one and 10:00 a.m. on day two.

The field will include host Tennessee Tech, Alabama A&M, Bellarmine, Binghamton, Carson Newman, Cleveland State, Findlay, Marshall, Morehead State, Murray State, Northern Kentucky, Oral Roberts, Roane State, Tennessee and Walters State.Â
Detroit Mercy has played in the event eight times, tallying three sixth-place finishes and claiming seventh in 2019 with an 881 (300-289-292).Â
Last year, the Titans tied for sixth in the event with an 875 as three players finished on the top 20, led by senior
James Hill, who shared seventh with a career-low 213 and tied his career-best with a 3-under 69 in the second round.Â
This will be the second event of the spring for the Titans as they took 14th at the Orlando Invitational with a 941 two weeks ago.
Sophomore
Alek Mauro leads the team in scoring at 74.6, while Hill has a 75.3 average.
