Liz Murphy picked up her first save of the season going 3.0 innings allowing only one run with a pair of strikeouts. The Mastodons took the nightcap, 2-0.

Game 1:
• Detroit Mercy (3-30, 3-14 HL) posted eight runs on seven hits in the third inning to take a commanding 8-0 lead
• After Peru scored off a throwing error with the bases loaded, Lara, Hazel, Chapman and Gauthier each hit four consecutive RBI singles
• Tanguay then cleared the bases with her three-run homer
• Purdue Fort Wayne (7-30, 6-11 HL) cut the lead in half with four runs in the bottoms of the third
• Paver's two-run shot put the Titans ahead 10-4 in the fourth
• PFW once again responded with three runs in the bottom half to trail 10-7
• Roth reached on a fielder's choice to plate Tanguay in the fifth for a 11-7 lead
• The Dons pulled cut the deficit to 11-9 with a two run home run in the fifth inning
• After PFW cut the lead to a run at 11-10 off a double and throwing error, the next batter reached on another throwing error. However, the Titans were able to recover on the play and gunned down the game-tying run at the plate
• Murphy then got the second out via a strikeout. After a single moved another potential game-tying runner to third base, she got the final batter to fly out to left field leaving two runners stranded.
Game 2:
• PFW recoded the game's only runs with a pair in the second inning off a RBI double and single
• Murphy went the distance going 6.0 innings with four strikeouts
• Peru, Roth and Chapman each recorded a hit
Detroit Mercy returns home to Buysse Ballpark for a series against UIC beginning on Friday, Apr. 22 at 3 p.m.
