McKenna Tanguay belted two home runs going 2-for-5 on the day with three RBI, two runs scored and eight total bases as Detroit Mercy dropped a doubleheader to visiting UIC, 4-1 and 13-3 on Saturday afternoon at Buysse Ballpark. Junior
Renee Trotman recorded an RBI double while sophomore
Keira Morrow recorded her first career hit in game two. Junior

Piper Roth also each recorded a hit.
Game 1:
• UIC (8-26, 5-12 HL) got on the board with a RBI single in the first inning
• The Flames added a second run on a RBI single in the third inning
• Tanguay's solo home run over the right field fence in the fourth inning broke up a no-hitter and pulled Detroit Mercy (4-32, 4-17 HL) within a run at 2-1
• UIC then added two runs off a RBI double in the top of the seventh inning to secure the 4-1
Game 2:

Liz Murphy got out of a bases loaded jam in the first inning
• UIC got their first run off a throwing error followed by a RBI double to take a 2-0 lead
• Tanguay hit a two-run shot for her second home run of the day in the third inning pulling the Titans within a run at 3-2
• Trotman added an RBI double in the fourth inning to score
Taryn Peru tying the game at 3-3
• The Flames added a RBI single followed by a two-run homer to plate three runs in the fourth inning
• UIC then broke the game open with three consecutive home runs in the sixth inning to take a commanding 9-3 lead
• The Flames added four more runs in the top of the seventh highlighted by a three-run double
