SCHEREVILLE, Ind. (9/26/2022) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's golf team ended its second fall event of the season in UIC's Briar Ridge Invitational on Monday.
Detroit Mercy tallied a 645 (324-321) for eighth at the par 72, 6,086-yard Briar Ridge Country Club in Schererville, Indiana.
Once again, sophomore
Ariel Chang recorded a top-five finish - her fifth career top-five finish in just six collegiate events - as she was fourth with a 4-over 148 (75-73). She had two birdies and 14 pars in her final-round 1-over 73 as she went on a roll with 13 pars and a birdie in her last 14 holes.
She ended the event tied for third with 24 pars and tied for sixth with five birdies and was tied for fifth on the course's par 4's with a +1, 4.05 average and tied for 10th with a +1, 3.13 average on the par 3's.
Junior
Sophia Ubaydi tied for 38th with a 162 (82-80), one shot off her career best. She was also a stroke short of her career low posting an 80 in the final round, where she had three birdies and eight pars. She also tied for 10th in the tournament with a +1, 3.13 average on the par 3's.
Senior
Sydney Bradford and freshman
Kyla Charlebois shared 57th with a 169. Bradford (84-85) knocked in eight pars on the final 18 and Charlebois (83-86) added six pars.
Playing as an individual, senior
Shae Zydeck is tied for 51st with a 165 (80-85).
The Titans will be back in action next week as they take part in Eastern Michigan's Shirley Spork Invitational at Eagle Crest Golf Club from Oct. 3-4.
