YPSILANTI, Mich. (10/3/2023) -- Sophomore
Taylor Kondel led the way with a career day and a career tournament as the University of Detroit Mercy women's golf team ended the Shirley Spork EMU Invitational on Tuesday.
Detroit Mercy placed 11th with a 956 (323-324-309) at the par 72, 6,159-yard Eagle Crest Golf Club.Â
Kondel tied for 35th after she carded a career-low even-par 72 for a career-best 233 (80-81-72) scorecard. She started the day with five straight pars and then knocked in four birdies in her last eight holes. Overall, she led the team with six birdies and was second with 28 pars and was tied for seventh on the par 3's with an even-par 3.00 average.Â
Sophomore
Sydnie Redovich was 55th with a season-low 241 (81-80-80), while junior
Sophia Ubaydi shared 57th with a career-tying 243 (80-80-83). Redovich led the team with 30 pars and Ubaydi was second on the squad with five birdies.Â
Freshman
Zell Wilson tied for 67th with a 253 (82-83-88) and freshman
Lauren Han posted a 267 (89-88-90) for 70th.Â
The Titans will return to action in two weeks as they play in the Chippewa Invitational at the Birmingham Country Club from Oct. 16-17.
