Jordan Hazel went 3-for-7 overall with two doubles and two runs scored while
Renee Trotman recorded two hits with a double and RBI single as Detroit Mercy jumped out to a 3-1 lead but could not hold on falling 4-3 in walk-off fashion to Creighton on Saturday at the DePaul Dome Tournament on Saturday. The Titans also fell 4-0 to Evansville in the nightcap.
Sophomore
Jaiden Lara hit 3-for-6 with a double and RBI overall while senior
Jordyn Chapman went 1-for-3 with an RBI single against Creighton (1-0). Freshman
Trinity Fessler recorded her first two career hits going 2-for-3 against Evansville (4-0).
Senior
Olivia Warrington tossed 6.1. innings in the circle with another five strikeouts against the Bluejays bringing her total to 10 for the tournament. Freshman
Alison Donaugh went 5.0 innings with a strikeout in her collegiate debut against the Purple Aces.
Creighton Recap:
• Hazel got the Detroit Mercy in the going with a double and scored off an RBI single from Lara. Chapman then delivered another RBI single to score senior Alison Smith who pinch-ran for Lara giving the Titans a 2-0 lead
• The Blue Jays get a run back with an RBI double in the bottom of the first

Renee Trotman delivered an RBI single to score Hazel in the second inning to move the Titans ahead 3-1
• The Blue Jays inched closer with an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth inning to trail by a run at 3-2.
• Creighton tied the game at 3-3 off a stolen base in the bottom of the sixth inning.
• The Blue Jays got a double followed by a walk-off RBI single to complete the comeback for a 4-3 win.
Evansville Recap:
• Detroit Mercy got the bases loaded in the bottom of the second inning with two outs but left them stranded.
• After Lara doubled to lead off the third inning, pitch runner Smith advanced to third with one out but was also left stranded
• Evansville (4-0) got on the board first with three runs (two unearned) to take a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning
• The Purple Aces added another unearned run in the fifth inning to take a 4-0 lead.
• Trotman led off the fifth with a double followed by a walk from Lara. After Donaugh reached base off an error, Trotman was thrown out at third base. Then junior
Maddy Heilner hit into a double play to end the inning leaving both runners stranded.
• Sophomore
Chloe Spitzer enter the game in relief in the top of the sixth inning and got the Titans out of a jam with runners on first and second with no outs.
• The Titans once again got runners in scoring position in the bottom of the seventh inning with one out but left them stranded.
• Detroit Mercy left nine runners stranded on base for the game
