Renee Trotman reached on a bases-loaded fielder's choice in the nightcap as Detroit Mercy dropped a doubleheader (2-1 and 9-1) at Campbell to conclude the weekend series on Saturday afternoon at Amanda Littlejohn Stadium.
Sophomore
Chloe Spitzer was solid in the circle not allowing a runner on base until the fourth inning. She went the distance tossing 6.0 innings allowing two runs on five scattered hits with a pair of strikeouts in game one.

Maddy Heilner each recorded a hit with Heilner scoring a run in game two.
Game 1 Recap:
• After Chapman and Smith drew walks, Glenn delivered an RBI single giving Detroit Mercy (1-14) a 1-0 lead
• Spitzer looked good in the circle not allowing a hit through 3.1 innings retiring 10 straight batters with one strikeout.
• Spitzer issued her first walk in the fourth inning followed by Campbell's (16-8) first hit to get runners on first and second base. After a sac bunt moving the runner to third base with two outs, she retired the last batter keeping the Camels off the board.
• Campbell broke through in the bottom of the fifth inning with an RBI single to tie the game at 1-1. The Fighting Camels added another hit followed by a walk to load the bases but Spitzer was able to get out of the bases-loaded jam with a flyout.
• Campbell got a lead-off double followed by a stolen base to get a runner on third who later scored on a fielder's choice to take a 2-1 lead in the bottom for the sixth inning.
• The Titans were unable to tie the game in the top of the seventh.
Game 2 Recap:
• After a scoreless first inning, the Camels posted a pair of RBI doubles to take a 2-0 lead in the second.
• Campbell extended their lead plating four runs on five hits in the third inning to move ahead 6-0.
• The Camels got another RBI single. Wolfbauer threw out a runner at the plate preventing the eighth run from scoring keeping the deficit to 7-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning.
• Detroit Mercy got the bases loaded in the top of the fifth off a single from Heilner followed by a walk from junior
Ryann Glenn and Lara reaching on an error.
Renee Trotman then reached on a fielder's choice to score Heilner but Glenn was thrown out on the play. After Chapman walked to load the bases again, the Titans could not capitalize still trailing 7-1.
• The Fighting Camels then added two more runs in the bottom half to seal the win.
Detroit Mercy welcomes Toledo for a home-opening doubleheader on Tue., Mar. 14 at 2 pm & 4 p.m.
