Kara Wolfbauer went 2-for-2 with two doubles and a walk as Detroit Mercy dropped the Metro Series opener 13-1 to arch-rival Oakland on Tuesday afternoon. Freshman
Alison Donaugh also hit 2-for-3 with a double with freshman
Jenna Holt going 1-for-4.

• The Titans took a 1-0 lead in the first inning off a throwing error during a run down. Senior
Jordan Hazel reached on a fielder's choice but senior
Allison Smith could not score on the play as she was thrown out at home plate.
• Oakland (10-12, 6-4 HL) walked the bases loaded in the top of the third and drew even at 1-1 off a hit by a pitch.
• The Titans got the bases loaded in the bottom half but could not get a run across.
• The Golden Grizzlies added three runs off four hits highlighted by an RBI single and double to take their first lead of the game at 4-1 in the top of the four inning.
• Oakland extended their lead to 6-1 off a two-run homer by Jen Kirzka in the sixth inning.
• Wolfbauer hit her second double in the bottom half but the Titans had a runner thrown out at home plate for the second time during the play.
• The Golden Grizzlies took a commanding 13-1 lead in the top of the seventh inning with seven runs with four coming off a grad slam home run from Kirzka.
• Wolfbauer now is tied for the team lead in doubles with four.
Detroit Mercy concludes the Metro Series against arch-rival Oakland with a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 12 at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
