CARMEL, Ind. (4/16/2023) -- Sophomore
Ariel Chang came into the second round just a couple of shots out of first and was able to get herself in a playoff, but the Titan couldn't pull it out as the University of Detroit Mercy women's golf team ended its regular season at the IUPUI Lady Jaguar Invitational on Sunday.
The Titans will now get ready for next week's Horizon League Championship.
Chang ended the final 18 in a four-way tie for first with a 148 (72-76). After her even-par 72 in the first round, Chang had 14 pars in the second round to put herself in a share of first. The playoffs started on hole 16, but she was not able to register the birdie to get to continue.Â
It was her sixth career top-five finish and her ninth top-10 effort in just 12 events. She tied for sixth among the competition with 24 pars and tied for seventh with four birdies and was also second on the par 5's (-3, 4.63), tied for second on the par 3's (even, 3.00) and tied for ninth on the par 4's (+6, 4.30).Â

As a team, the Titans were 10th with a 648 (309-339) on the par-72, 6,180-yard Plum Creek Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana.
