Jaiden Lara went 1-for-3 with a two-run single in game two as Detroit Mercy dropped an 8-0 and 9-3 #HLSB doubleheader to visiting IUPUI on Senior Day at Buysse Ballpark. Freshman

For the third time this season, senior
Olivia Warrington matched a season-high eight strikeouts in the circle in game one while sophomore
Chloe Spitzer tallied her season second-best four strikeouts for the second time on the year in game two.
Game 1 Recap:
• Detroit Mercy (3-31, 2-17 HL) got runners on second and third base in the bottom of the second inning but were unable to scratch across a run.
• IUPUI (15-25, 11-10 HL) took a 4-0 lead off a pair of RBI singles and a two-run home run in the top of the third inning.
• Fessler's double in the second inning accounted for the Titans' only hit.
• The Jaguars added three more runs off an RBI double and a two-run single in the fifth inning and added their final run in the sixth for the 8-0 win.
Game 2 Recap:
• After Fessler singled and advanced to third off a throwing error and Smith walked, the Titans took pulled off a delayed double steal as Fessler was able to steal home giving the Titans a 1-0 lead in the second inning.
• In the third inning, freshman
Elyssa Adams drew a walk followed by Holt who reached on a fielder's choice while Adams was safe on the play due to an error by the second baseman. After both runners moved to second and third off a wild pitch, Lara made the Jags pay with her two-run single moving the Titans ahead 3-0.
• The Jags then drew even with a two-run homer and RBI single in the bottom of the fourth inning.
• IUPUI then hung a crooked number with six runs in the sixth inning highlighted by a two-run single and two-run triple to take a commanding 9-3 lead en route to the doubleheader sweep.
Detroit Mercy and IUPUI will play the series finale on Saturday, April 29 at noon.
