CHARLESTON, Ill. (3/31/2024) -- Senior Allison Sherman earned a win to lead 11 top-five finishes as the University of Detroit Mercy women's track and field ended Eastern Illinois' Big Blue Classic.

Sherman took a lead right from the start and never looked back as she clocked a time of 17:38.21 to win the 5,000-meters, while also placing fifth in the 1,500m in 9:51.51.

Sophomores Jada Clark and Zoe Morris shared second in the high jump at 1.50m. Freshman Alaina Burns claimed third in the steeplechase with a time of 12:15.34 and senior Kayla Smith was third in the hammer with a toss of 47.40m.

The Titans will stay local next week as they compete in Oakland's Golden Grizzly Invitational on Saturday.
